Example diccussion. By the way, I think this term needs a revision. --Djihed 15:50, 9 December 2006 (PST)

There was an error in the page name, I renamed it --Abderrahim 05:34, 10 December 2006 (PST)
i think the translation needs some revision too, i suppose "إلغاء" or "إفشال" would be more meaningful, if you noticed the search on wikpedia, abort bares two different meanings! diffrent enough so as each has and article of its own!!--Maysara.abdulhaq 06:13, 10 December 2006 (PST)

I think the computing term derives from the military term rather than the biological one, so I think "إجهاض" is definitely wrong for it. Beyond the general meaning of premature unsuccessful completion of a process, it carries the sense of being deliberate and strategic, a controlled withdrawal performed in time to cause limited damage rather than a failure or a rout. Because of this, I wonder if "إفشال" fits, as its dictionary meanings seem to carry that sense of failure. However, a native speaker might correct me on this.

What about "إحباط" --Chahibi 14:58, 13 December 2006 (PST)

Lupestro, thanks very much for the context. From your explanations it seems توقيف and إلغاء are strong contenders. I am more for إلغاء as it correctly conveys the meaning of terminating unsuccessfully, توقيف seems more suitable for "halt". --Djihed 15:53, 13 December 2006 (PST)
I am afraid we may need the term إلغاء for Cancel as it is the most used translation for Cancel
well, why not إنسحاب then? it sounds odd, yes :) but it means exit with making no moves (abort?)--Maysara.abdulhaq 17:01, 13 December 2006 (PST)

09:49, 31 December 2006 (PST)
