I think the computing term derives from the military term rather than the biological one, so I think "إجهاض" is definitely wrong for it. Beyond the general meaning of premature unsuccessful completion of a process, it carries the sense of being deliberate and strategic, a controlled withdrawal performed in time to cause limited damage rather than a failure or a rout. Because of this, I wonder if "إفشال" fits, as its dictionary meanings seem to carry that sense of failure. However, a native speaker might correct me on this.
--Lupestro 03:52, 13 December 2006 (PST)

:Lupestro, thanks very much for the context. From your explanations it seems توقيف and إلغاء are strong contenders. I am more for إلغاء as it correctly conveys the meaning of terminating unsuccessfully, توقيف seems more suitable for "halt". --[[User:Djihed|Djihed]] 15:53, 13 December 2006 (PST)
