Drupal Version 5.x or 6.x RC ?

2) Drupal.org is not yet using drupal 6 for the above reason. If you feel brave enough to use Drupal 6 for arabeyes while drupal.org is not using it yet.

AFAIR, the problem with Drupal is that it doesn't have full localization support, at least for menus. That is the main reason why I use Joomla.
